Trump's FBI & intelligence reforms are consistent with Big Intel's ideas
It's encouraging to see a new spirit break the Deep State's forbidding ice
The Trump administration hasn’t been in office for 90 days, yet it has implemented a stream of policies to reform the FBI and intelligence community. Everything indicates that the policies have barely started. The reality of doing is far tougher than those of us on the sidelines realize. But it’s encouraging to see so many are consistent with my recommendations in Big Intel: How the CIA and FBI Went from Cold War Heroes to Deep State Villains (Regency, 2024).
Scores of people were involved in shaping and making those policy changes in the FBI, Homeland Security, and the Intelligence Community. Many had ideas similar or identical to what I had been putting together for ages, including the time I was researching and writing Big Intel in 2022 and 2023.
Without claiming any credit for helping shape President Trump’s immediate-term accomplishments, it’s a joy, after so many years, to see how Big Intel shares a common vision with the president and his team.
The administration has only begun. It shows no sign of stopping. My expectations are high. Here’s a partial tally so far.
